That depends very much which satellite(s) you are interested in.

Theres almost no free football left these days - the last big provider open is expected to go secure sometime soon

A lot of us do it for the sheer fun of it, for learning other languages, seeing other cultures etc ---- and then enjoy any free good stuff that is available.

At the moment there is plenty of free Premiership football; however, the expectation is that the main avenue for getting it will soon be closed.

On a motorised system, there is always plenty of free football from all over the world; but for those who want the major European leagues (especially Premiership), the safest thing to do is to get some kind of subscription --- cheap and cheerful subscriptions including ART for between £80 and £100 per year and the presently neither so cheap nor so cheerful Digitalb for about 250 shekels; there are far more expensive ones of course.

Your other problem is that where you are, the Sky dish is not much use for this purpose and you will need to get a larger dish.

Is it worth it??? Well ...............

At the moment some SPL matches can still be watched for free e.g. one should be able to watch the Celtic v Dundee U match tonite. For guaranteed viewing of SPL, a subscription to either ART or JSC/Al Jazeera Sports would be recommended. Both of these subscriptions are relatively inexpensive; on quite a few of SPL matches on those channels you also get commentary in English.

Have a look at the site in this link: _http://liveonsat.com/daily.php. The site lists football matches available each day and on which channel/s they can be seen. The channels in red/brown are totally free (FTA) and do not need subscription; the ones in blue generally require subscription though some are currently available by means other than subscription. Move your cursor over each channel to see the satellites/frequencies on which they can be found.
