I have been given a Starview PVR, i'm a total novice at this so pls bare with me..... i've powered the box up, done an auto scan, gone to find the secret menu(menu 1570) and also tried(parental control i button then 2004) yet nothing appears for me to enter keys or turn emu on.....???

i'm so sorry if there is a basic answer for this, my apologies in advance

Hi and welcome to Techwatch
never had any dealings with this box but it looks like it might have the free to air firmware on it which doesn't give you access to the secret menu
the latest firmware for that model is dated 21/12/2008

Please could you be so kind and tell me what software i need for updating firmware and where to find it, sorry if it sounds like i need babysitting.....

you can get it off the wizardmods toolbar (you will have to register) its starview pvr fix 21122008
