Question really annoying problem

Hi everyone,

Im currently online with an ambit250 with test fix 0.3 in ex C&W and a good 20mb mac but am having problems. Basically every now and then ill need to restart my computer or unplug my router ect and when i do the ambit starts to try and from the looks of it re-initialise the mac??? i can see the lights on the front blinking and the modem is going through the process that it does as if you reset it.

Now when i was using my now dead SB5101e when i used to turn off my pc or disconnect the RJ45 lead the modem would simple turn off the Ethernet light but still be connected to VM network as that side of things doesn't need to be messed with. If anyone can tell me what i need to do to my ambit to stop it resetting and re-initializing the mac every time the Ethernet is either plugged out ect then id greatly appreciate it as each time the modem does this im finding it hard to get the same mac working sometimes i carnt get connected again its f***ing about with it for no good reason.

does dhcp server option in haxoware have anything to do with it should that be disabled? right now to get back on ive had to take my router out the loop and go straight to modem but after 5 tries i appear to be stable again till i restart my pc that is. Thanx

Just an update for anyone who might get this same problem i managed to fix the router issue after testing every option even forcing IP numbers to just about everything but the modem it was simply a case of selecting a option that enabled my router to use the same mac as my pc?. I dont know why the mac address's i assigned the router to use didnt work but if i set the router to the same mac as the pc the connection comes to life and now i can turn my pc off while the router keeps the modem connected, in a very clumsy way fixing problem one in my first post by simply keeping the line endlessly open.
