Default old laptop

hi all
anyone have an old laptop with 9 pin serial port for sale cheap?
only need the use of serial port for unlooper
or better still is there an adapter to fit the newer computers reduced to 9 pin serial that actually works?

You would get a better responce if you put this post in the for sale / wanted section.

If your using a powersync unlooper i find a usb > rs232 converter works fine with operatiing systems up to vista ultimate 64 Bit but not windows 7 32 or 64 Bit.

Try a PCI Serial card, these generally work better than USB to Serial adapters and are relatively cheap.

Most computers have 9pin serial connection check ur pc u may already have it also if u getting a lappy get one with parralel connection also so u can jtag aswell should u need to use it. Im after an old lappy myself for doing cards with aswell.

I have one setting here an old compaq that has 3 port on the back, com port, vga port and parallel port.
