Myself and a few friends in the same region are all having problems with receiving discovery channels. We are all using dvb-c cards from different manufacturers, receiving from VM.
The channels seem to just give a frozen picture , or sometimes just audio. A dbox receiver however works fine. Any ideas appreciated. |

Please explain your setup to its entirety, ie - any splitters, what boxes/modems are connected, and how many. What card are you using? What fireware version for the card are you using? are you using a cam? etc Try to give as much information as possible, failure to comply will only hinder the results you could get, if you explained in more detail.

I have a tvserver running mediaportal, cards are Technotrend tt1500 and twinhan dtv cab ci (2301).
These are connected to a 4 way splitter with my modem and a v plus box. I dont use hard cam just vplug, and I watch tv through either of my 3 client pc's. A friend has the same problem and has just a 2 way splitter with a tt1501 and his modem on it, running mp in just one pc. My cards are on firmware 1.2.3.8. for the twinhan and 5.0.0.1.9 for tt1500. The tt1501 was running 5.0.0.1.8 but at present is on 5.0.0.0.6. Cheers for any advice hope this helps. |

You could very well have a signal issue splitting it 4 ways. In my house we have two seperate points that nthell installed to the house originally. When we split the upstairs connection more than 3 ways, we needed a signal booster with an active return path in order to run the modems and stb without internet dropout / picture breakup. I would check all cabling and try to run the setup without splitters, just to confirm whether this is your issue or not. I would also look to see if there is a later version of any drivers or software you are currently utilising in your current setup. Any questions, fire away

Fixed now, wasnt anything to do with signal, it turned out to be an audio codec issue in the end.
None of the normal codecs works, but the nvidia purevideo codec pack contained the audio codec that worked. Glad it was that simple. |
