Exclamation HELP NEEDED - SURFBOARD 5101e

Hi guys, I need some help flashing a surfboard 5101e modem, I have the blackcat lead and the pin header soldered on to the modem successfully but I cannot figure out how to flash the firmware to it. I can flash the Ambit 250/255 modems successfully but I cannot figure it out, I was just wandering if this modem can be flashed and if so what firmware does it require. I have tried using haxorware, cho configurator, ambit 0.96. If anybody could help it would be much appreciated.

You need JTAG Utility or SchwarzeKatz.

I have schwarze katz and i have tried it but i still cannot get it to write to the modem. Does it have anything to do with the model number of the modem which is a 5101e and the schwarze katz does not have an option for them only the 5100 and the 5100e. If this isn't the case do you know if there is any tutorials out there that will help me to get this modem up and running.

Use JTAG utility... It's much better than the black cat.

im sorry to see your having problems with your SB as well m r mawdsley this is what happened to mine when i tried to use the latest version of haxoware on it, only after trying to reflash with jtag utility did i get the one led light problem now it appears to be bricked, although the flash chip can still be detected and supossidly wrote to??? go figure. In the end i had to flash a couple ambits i had lying around and cracked on with them. There's more help and support for that modem as you will find thats what everyone else is using so it would seem sorry i can't help you out ill watch your thread for a fix as im sure its whats going on with mine to.

i done my 5101 in november and havnt had a problem with it yet, i did when i was trying to do it as it was the first modem i,d ever done, in the end i used jtag utilty and haxorware 10rc6 cause i was having problems with blackcat all i done in the end was
load jtag up and type in the box at the bottom

detect
ldram flash - this opens the page for you to select the program your flashing
program flash

once done closed the program, rest modem went to page 192.168.100.1 and changed the apropriate settings

not sure if the newer haxors use the same process as i havnt needed to use them yet.
