Default Zone 2 - am I securing the dish correctly?

Hello. I'm about to put up my new dish ('Raven' style I believe) and have attached a picture of the L tube/wall bracket. Is the U bolt on the left of the picture in the right place? At present, it's the other U bolt that's doing all the work. The wall fixing is made of strong steel – is it the intention that I should be able to tighten the left hand U bolt so that the wee 'tongue' is pulled down to meet the tube? I'm wary that the damn thing will snap off first!

If the 'tongue' on the wall bracket is indeed to be pulled down onto the tube by the force of the U bolt, is it a good idea to do so BEFORE fixing the bracket to the wall? My logic for this suggestion is that there would be more leeway for the 'tongue' to move (I have the feeling it's gonna be quite hard to bend it...).

Many thanks.

As said on sats uk, it's correct. Tighten the bolts and the tongue will grip the fixing pole.

Thanks, satelliteman. I hadn't realised my other post had made it to the forum (I breached the 'attachment' procedure...).

What about my suggestion of tightening the 'tongue' U bolt BEFORE fixing bracket to wall - any merit in that?

It will bend easily. I fitted one of these the other week, and I got my 8 yr old son to assembly the dish and brackets for me, he must had done it right as it went up on the wall OK.

Fix the bracket to the wall first then place the L type in place and tighten.
