Default hyperterminal help needed

hi, connected modem up as instructed, set send/receive to on, clicked on 13.5stealth file, came out and clicked on option d in hyperterminal and input all info i.e ip address and file name, keep getting a Tftp timeout in hyperterminal, when i go into solarwinds the error message say>>> Transmit error while sending to 192.168.100.10 : the connection is reset by remote side.
does anyone know what this means??????

are you writing your full file name into hyperterminal? eg, your.new.firmware.bin?

Go into your command prompt and rename the f/w file by:

rename <yourfw.bin> fw.bin

Then try again using the shorter fw.bin

Also, terminated from remote side will mean that the connection will have been killed by the tftp server. Have you tried using the alternative tftpd32?

Download TFTPD32 and try with that instead, then report back.

no, its not currently connected to internet and has no security installed, the windows firewall is also set to off. I am using windows nemesis o/s though, dont realy think this would cause a problem, not got another computer to try that has the ports on.
