Yes I was just reading the same today; that a md5 hash is created from the contents of the config file and if it doesnt match when the modem reg's, it won't run.

isn't that the difference when autoserving without dhcp bypass?

it uses the config stored in flash but still gets the one from tftp for registration?

Well I just tested some editing and stuff and nothing was working for me.

Interestingly, even if I change the settings back to how they were, and then save the config and serve it, it doesn't work, but the original untouched config works fine.

Must be something to do with the auth string.

these are problems which come before we've got anywhere near the tftp bit

how do I get rid of the SYNC Timing probs when trying to autoserve
