well still mixed results with editing the config. the connectivity is very sporadic.
sure, speed is amazing but then it drops off to nothing. then picks up again. seems my problem of the internal/external lease dropping is sorted, it was a config problem or the way haxor uses the config. fingers cross i've nailed it to the floor now some modems were doing it, some were not. i simply downloaded the config from a modem that wasnt doing it and stored in new modem. for me, forcing the 50mb or autserving this way does the same, but, the modem fails to give the pc an internal ip and comes up with limited connectivity. reload, how fast have you got your upload and have you any connection issues? would you be so kind to send me the one with the 2mb up you made before? thanks in advance

I have tried this on the Old Telewest network and it's not working . Can i ask what tftp server your pulling these files from - I've not been able to modify a config for about 7 years. It maybe that the tftp or cmts server lacks the cisco protection thus allowing some to get online

Hmm. I found on another site a list of "community" or "auth" strings.
Maybe if we could find the strings that WE need, we will be in business! |

You got no chance of finding the md5 password . in the past people have tried to hack the tftp servers to get the files list \\*dir i don't think they store the passwords on the servers anymore. If we did know the password you would definatly be able to make your own config.

No chance?
There's always a chance, especially with md5, there is a tool for reversing the encrypted filename of the config back to cleartext... |
