You will need to reset the Net ID first, the chip will need lifting but the Net ID will set itself once the chip is blanked. You will also need to unloop and program the card.

I use talkback filters as phyically removeing the required components to disable talkback can cause the box to constantly reboot
Youve not picked the easiest box to learn on mate

leave cable feed out and boot into engineers menu to check net id it'll be on page 2 (hold up & down while booting until eg menu appears)
but as you got the box from another area tw dont think net id will be right for you!
As for checking the card status it will say paired as long as the ird matches but could still have a false BK

first thing you'll need to do is unloop the card then assuming its got the correct details you'll then need to replace the 512 chip (available from chartman)
set the net id using fun or atmega but as your in a pure area you probably wont need these
Once the net id is set you'll just need to write an image...thats it done

hi ok so am going to purchase new 512 chip off chartman i know roughly what is needed, but please could somebody list every thing recomended for modding sa 8300 v+hd box so as i can get all in one hit.take it i just unsolder old chip then resolder new chip as in ntl pure or do i need to programe the chip.then i need some kind of unlooper suggestions please? card being unlooped is original virgin smartcard.is this all doable on vista or do i need xp as some people have suggested.have talkback filter ordered.and some kind of card programer,i think thats all sorry to bother you all have read through lots of tuts ect but sa 8300 v+hd instructions are a little vivid.i will right a tut if i ever finish doing this mod,if all think this is advisable and needeed that is i will also make a donation once up and running and have more funds available to me.thanks to all who have helped.

I find easiest way to carefully snip the legs off the chip and then just desolder each bit of leg left, they come away easy with a wipe of a soldering iron and leave the pads in perfect condition to re-solder new chip, if you try to desolder the legs one side at a time you can pull the pads off, i think you are best to buy the £16 24c512/1024 programmer to programme the chip, as a blank one doesnt always work, and its a bugger to have to take it off again.
V-applications from downloads is the best tut
Infinity phoenix or dynamite plus are the best programmers, the powersync or tiny are good unloopers for £30.
