Hi, I'm new to this but have done some reading on my questions. Interesting!

I was hoping for some to help me on my dreambox dm600 pvr. Here is the thing, I’m on Telstar 12 15w but when I blind scan all frequencies failed, and failed. I am not sure if it got something to do with the fta keys or what? Where do one punch in the fta keys in the dream box? I was wondering if I must do n flash, but the unit is still new and has not sown more than say 5 TV channels.

If I could get more info on the machine and how to enter the fta keys I can learn more in the future with you expert guys!

PLSE Help!

You have your terminology all mixed up..

FTA = free to air (no keys required - transmitted in the clear)

How long have you had the the DB? How big is your dish?

For a week and a 1 meter dish . So I'm struggeling to open the channels. Buy the way thank you for the replay I was reading a lot of you posts! Wish i were YOU!

DB's are not ideal boxes for relative beginners to the hobby - you have dozens of hours of headscratching and frustration ahead of you.

I reckon it took me a year of regular use with my DB7020 before I was happy it was always doing what I wanted it to do not what it wanted when it decided to throw its teddy out of the pram!

However we will help you and you will eventually get the hang of it.

First principles -

Forget about the scrtambled channels for now - get used to using the box on the free stuff.

Get your network set up so you can connect to the DB from your computer.

I cind of get you there, so i also have a db 500 no good i suppose?

What I'm realy would like if you could just direct me with the basics, like the importance of the dish and how to open more channels say on the telstar 12 satellite. I am eager to lear and I am a fast learner Its just I get confused with the frequencies and i do not understand why it fail so many frequencies?

Default username is "root", password is "dreambox"

These should be changed or you leave your DB open to anyone to poke around in.
