Could we host a broadband speedtest here at Techwatch?

when you live as far out in the sticks as me, it can be used to see how slow it is!!!!

dunno about hosting an app for speed testing, but i use this to check my own speeds
hxxp://proxycheck.ntl.com/
username: fmcsupport
password: fmcsuppor+
Right click the 50mb file and "save as..." to give the most accurate test. 100mb doesn't work (apparently).

Mods, if the above link is allowed, maybe worth stickying?

Tryed that matey and it gives me nothing

Also there is Java apps out there that download files to test the speed
