hi guys , im trying to get this programmer to work , i have been messing about with it for 2 weeks now, my laptop i think is the problem now im using windows vista, with usb serial converter, cant sort this unlooper out , so thinking of calling time out, unless someone out there can sort me out, thanks in advance.

There are no new PC with true serial ports.
The best solution, but only if the software allows it is an old 486 (the last generation with true RS232 ports - that includes real +-15V) with W95 (last version of windows that allows direct hardware access). Just a philosophical remark. |

ok then, use a pc/laptop with a 9 pin port then! they seem to work, well they do for me and my powersync! :P

I am running vista ultimate 64bit on my laptop and works well with all related applications ( sidewinder , win-ex , libby etc...) , i also use a rs232-usb adaptor with my powersync unlooper the only issue i had to start with was com port numbering ,you need to set the com port number to 1 or 2 within the computers device manager. With vista all applications they need to be ran as administrator ( right click program item , run as administrator )

ok i ran xpatmel in admin, xpatmel proggrammer appears, hit bootload button , then says unknown com port. checked and double checked com ports no joy.
