Hello, I backed up my existing image before altering it and it now sits in the tmp folder (something like that). I will be attempting to flash a new image. When I back up the existing image I am currently using will it automatically overwrite the image in the tmp folder?

The /tmp folder is cleared every time you re-boot the box. If you want to keep the backup, you need to FTP it to your PC.

yes if the box has been rebooted or you have reflashed.
