can i load haxorware straight onto a ntl cable modem without it being hacked before?

loading haxorware on to the modem is the first bit of the hack (and the easy bit)

Yes, you need to edit the HFC MAC address, don't do what some people do and change the Ethernet MAC as this won't work. I once did this and I spent about 3 hours trying to figure out how to get my connection back (i'm not so familiar with modems you see lol) but in the end I ended up reflashing Haxorware and corrected my mistake, everything worked fine after that .

You can indeed, but you will need the necessary gear, ie: MAX232 adapter.

Depends on the ver of Hax you use mate. Subbed modems have enet MAC = HFC + 6, which is why we emulate this.
