Default Not sure how i fixed this fault?

Ok mate rings me up with fault on laptop. Switches it on and gets a warning saying "windows cannot find file Windows\System32\config\system. To repair this probem insert system disc and press r when prompted etc etc.

So i do this and its asking for where i want to repair and i cant seem to give it right answer so i fook that off and type help
In the list i spot repair boot as a help prompt (well a shortened version) So i type this and it then says it is repaired. Re boot lappy and bingo all is well. Talk about blind leading the blind hey

What i do and what caused fault in first place?????

Sounds like for some reason part of the bootup sequence has been changed. And you restored it back to default. Just tell them that and you'll look like a pro
