Exclamation Linking sky box to other tv's

Hi Guys!!

I am using the RF2 output from the back of my sky box to supply two additional tv's which i have fitted with magic eyes to control the sky HD box. The RF2 supply is conected to a proper TVLink splitter (TI 120) and from this the two additional tv's are supplied. Recently i have noticed 'ghosting' on the analogue channels on the secondary TV's. The analogue picture on the main TV is fine (from RF1 supply).

I have tried connecting the secondary tv's each in turn to the RF2 outlet directly (by-passing the tvlink). By doing this the picture on the secondary tv's are fine. As the TV link boosts the signal it must be picking up a weak signal which is causing the 'ghosting'.

As an experiment i bought the following item: -
Labgear 4 Way Splitter with Powerpass All Ports - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys

When installed the picture on the secondary tv's was fine but there was no power going to the magic eyes so the sky box couldn't be controlled from these secondary tv's. I though when it said power pass to all ports this should work ok- am i completely wrong on this?

Thanks in advance

Trev

The splitter is no good for 2 remote eyes. You may have a high analogue off air signal over driving the T120.

Is there anything else that i could use that would permit use of the magic eyes but wouldn't boost the signal??

Hi Dave,

The splitter i got was the 4 way equivalent of this- but when i try it the LED on the magic eye doesn't light.

You could change the RF channel O/P on the sky receiver and see if that works. It will mean retuning your TVs but that is no big deal.
