Regarding Funcard Programming

Hi, been reading posts n tuts over last week so decided go for the simple n cheapest route as its only my box (sammy 2100) im doing .Ordered a Funcard progammer from jabsplace and pogojtag n card elsewhere.

What im confused about of reading the 4 funcard tuts is 2 say to use nagra to load the latest .bin and enter my ird and bk number and save as exteep then load that with latest flash(C&W_CHAOS_FUN_FIX_271108.HEX) into prog software. Whilst the other 2 say to open up Toxic enter my ird and bk save as exteep, get the latest flash, (C&W_CHAOS_FUN_FIX_271108.HEX) then load into prog software.

Which of the 2 ways is best?, do i just open up the .bin in toxic and am doing the same process just with 2 diff software? or am i jus going crazy n seeing double with all the tuts that are on my screen

Tryed to hold off b4 posting a t*at question, thanks in advance if anyone can help..

Just use toxic to create your exteep and use latest flash for your area.

Ok, so i don't open a .bin file in toxic just enter my ird, bk and cam then create my exteep.

The flash has all the tier info n such?

Enter your BK and IRD, leave the CAM ID blank and the keys at 0, save it as exteep.hex and convert it to .bin if you wish (you don't have to but some programmers require the file format to be in .bin).

Use toxic put in details then drag and drop it into swapbinhex to change it to a hex file, thats your exteep.
Some people prefer to use a rom bin image instead, i dont know why? as thats what toxic is anyway, but re packaged and simplified.

@blakey_8 i read if i leave the CAM ID blank you get nagging screen popping up every now n then, was gonna enter 27 (as im ex c&w)?

Was looking at the start and rights dates with nagra date once i
had created my .bin and the start date was 1/1/2000 and expire 3/1/2100, does that mean the card will go off then or will it update?
Don't wanna raise the date case i get cut.

Will be doin jtag soon as it comes, will search for latest bytes in meantime.

You can put a CAM ID in if you like (start 27 for Ex C&W, 24 for Pure and 12 for TW), all it does is minimizes the chances of VM knocking the box off because the CAM ID is unique.

Best to put in cam id starting with the 1st 2 digits relevant to your area otherwise you wil get annoying messages after.

Its as Blakey8 has said above except im sure tw stars with 2C.

I dont think we need to worry about card running out in 2100, dont really think we`re going to be around then lol.

You are always going to have the need to do a card when vm make a hit to the cards.

You wont need to redo the exteep on the fun just the flash fix at the time if someone has been kind enough to release one.
