Default newbie questions

hi all
my first post

OK before i ask some daft questions can anyone point me to a guide that that will start me off

i want to have TV on my PC /and send it to media center ( pc/TV downstairs)

i don't have any cards yet , and cant find any in the UK , so wheres best to buy from ? from what Ive read i need a DVB-C card and TV out card
what cards are best / most suitable for me ?
my connection will be from Virgin ( in the old NTL area) dose this matter ?

so after looking around a bit more i have now found a German website that sells DvB- c cards
can anyone recommend a card , a popular card that has good support .
right now im looking at buying the Floppy DVB C/CI card
do you think this is a good card ?

I can vouch for the FloppyDTV, I have 2 installed myself.

Check out the forum over at "The Green Button" for ways of sending TV around the house. Personally I use Windows Media Centre with Cable TV tuners on my main Pc, these are linked over a home network to a couple of XBox 360's around the house acting as "Extenders". It all works quite well. )

Any cam that you can get that has the Joker 79 or 80 firmware.. I have 2xIcecrypt Cams with the joker 79, But i've heard that the older Zeta Blue Cam's can be programmed with the Joker FW.

Be carefully though, AFAIK any new Zeta Blue Cam will have been modded at the factory so that it cannot be reprogrammed..
