Guys I have a 250 modem that went down a couple of weeks ago and the guy I bought it off has decided that he cant get it back on!!!

Im not to ofay with the process of flashing and stuff and wouldnt even want to attempt to do it so I'm wondering if there is anyone on here who lives in Essex or London who I could send it to that would be able to get it back on for me

Why send it to be done? Have a look around and read a few threads. It's not that difficult, Get hold of DHCP Sniffer (downloads) and start sniffing. go to http://192.168.100.1 and see which firmware you're running find a guide/tut to the firmware in place and start reading.. If it's Infinite i'd advise upgrading to haxorware11rev31 (downloads) theres MANY of threads and guides on how to change it and use your firmware.
First thing i'd do is go and get your money back off the guy..

Bottom line is that at the minute theres no 'fix' for everyone that works. Try some mac address's you sniff and you should stay on. Dont force any configs.

Thanks for the advice I will have a go but as I said I'm not all that and am not sure of what I need to put the new firmware and mac addresses in

Having downloaded the haynes manual I now have no idea where to get the lead needed so would appreciate it if someone could help me either buy the lead or reflash the modem for me.

What fw does your Modem have on it?

its got infinite fw on it so from reading the posts it would seem it needs to have the new haxorware put on it.

My modem didnt go off at the same time as the rest of the people I know in my area it lasted a further couple of weeks before it just disconnected and wont reconnect, I have heard that other people who's have gone off get the NTL registration page come up where as I dont.

I hope someone can help

Have u tried using a different mac u dont need a lead to do settings or change macs only to flash firmware's. Also try and spoof your mac using a software such as smac or tmac.

I would appreciate it if you could maybe PM a guide as to how to cahnge my mac and how to spoof my mac because I have no idea.

I know I'm a new member and am asking a lot of questions but appreciate any help I can get
