Best firmware for the Ambit 120?

How can I change the MAC on this modem. I have a feeling that this has been modded before because the MAC it is running on doesn't match the one on the base.

Sorry to bump an old'ish thread but thought i start here instead of creating a new thread.........

Yeah i've dug out an old 100 and a 120. They both power on ok but getting act1vat1on page on both. I also changed/spoofed the network card nic every time i tried using smac.

I cant find much info on changing the mac either using 100,120's. I assume I will need to telnet or hyperterminal into the cable modem as there are no settings to change the mac adress via the 192.168.100.1 cm internal webpages.

Guess it's back to the h4yn3s manual i suppose! (sigh...)

Can anyone kill two birds with one stone and help myself and 'blakey' out please? Whats the trick to getting these snail-like modems up ad running again?
