There are C-band satellites that we have access to, but seeing as I only have a 1m dish, I've never had chance to experiment.

C-band are basically at a lot lower frequency, 3 or 4 GHz something like that. A mesh BUD will do it, Lincsat has one in his back yard.

Dont think I can experiment either as I am only allowed one dish up to 100cm and one dish up to 60cm without any planning permission

For an sds drill would this one do? And if its not "good" is it OK. Sorry I should have asked here first, but the auction was ending fast, so I bidded thinking I would get a cheap deal

Just wondering whats the difference between an sds hammer drill and a normal hammer drill? At a local DIY shop, I asked them this question and they said there was no real difference, but I thought seeing as you guys put up dishes, you would know better. Is there any real difference?

Dunno about the mechanism inside them, but my SDS drill goes through brick with ease and little effort required, even with a 16mm diameter, whearas my normal hammer drill takes ages and requires lots of effort.

Also the bits and chuck just slot together with little slots on the end of the bit, this stops the bit slipping in the chuck. Quick release too of course.

The only thing you have to watch is if you want to go right through a wall, say with a 400mm bit in it. If not done carefully it will burst the brick and look awful. I usually measure the thickness of the wall first and turn the hammer of for the last inch. It works most of the time.

This may sound like a stupid question, but does anyone know where I can find one brick(not attached to any walls of the house) or anything like a brick. Ive never used any kind of drill before and the words hammer drill makes it sound all the more powerful LOL

You can buy bricks from Wickes etc, but drilling into loose brick would not be safe and would probably just crack in two. Try a paving slab on the ground maybe, or the inside wall of a garage of something. Remember goggles.
