New 'high octane' action channel to launch

Flextech has confirmed that its new sports and gaming channel 'Player' will launch on Sky Digital channel 123 in early March that will show what it calls 'high-octane action content'.

The channel is a spin-off from the strand of the same name which currently broadcasts on Challenge. Action adventure, fighting, gambling, poker and football will be at the heart of its schedule. The focus of the shows will be the stories behind the action rather than the action itself. Jonathan Webb, director of programming at Bravo, Trouble and Challenge, said: "Player will be gritty and intense. It will be about taking risks and winning and losing big. Our shows will capture the moments and the stories of the people we most admire as true players."
