Default Modded Pace DI4000 not working

Hi all,

My modded Pace DI4000 box has stopped working. It powers up ok but shows dashes/lines on the display and hangs there. If I unplug and power it up again the lines/dashes change but it just hangs again, unable to change channel from the box and doesn't respond to the remote.

Any ideas ?

Thanks
Adam

Thanks for the replies guys, but in all honesty I wouldn't know how to check either of the suggestions.

Anyway I've managed to get it working, switched it on and off at least 100 times (yes it took ages) and it suddenly booted up properly without the funny symbols on the display !

Thats what they tell you to do in all the call centres,
Thats good could be lazy caps or a slight bad connection, if its working then it dont need fixing.

Hi

To the left of the white psu conector to the board is an atmel chip I think its u5600 if you can read on chip should say atmel AT49lv or similar as you are looking from the front display around middlish.

As said if you get a hair dryer and flux the pins and press down on chip and get the blower on it. Not to heat mind.

Even if you havent got flux still try hair dryer to see if it improves bootup.

Regards

Same problem again after 2 weeks, I'm going to try the hair dryer thing, is it just a simple case of warming up the atmel with the dryer ?

Thanks
