Hi I have got a good MAC up and running for past 5 hours, but would like to know whether I can force to get the speed higher. Because I am getting 2mb/s but I checked couple hours back and it was 7mb/s...
The config is: cmreg-ntlhm250-bas.cm MAC im using is: 00:14:A4:CB.... I am not sure on how to use the config file to force a 20mb connection (cmreg-ntlhm250-rts22.cm) I think it is. But I don't know what to put in the server IP file. So the config file page is all blank and disabled, as I don't know how to do it. Below is the information from my haxorware overview page: Task Status Acquire Downstream ChannelDoneObtain Upstream ParametersDoneUpstream RangingDoneEstablish IP ConnectivityDoneRetrieve Time of DayDoneNegotiate securityDoneReceive configurationDoneRegister connectionDoneCable modem statusOperational HFC Parameters ModeDHCPIP Address10.235.30.....Subnet255.255.252.0TFTP Server10.137.103.1TFTP Filenamecmreg-ntlhm250-bas.cmToD Server62.253.131.14 Configuration file Namecmreg-ntlhm250-bas.cm Size1176 bytesComplianceDOCSIS 1.0 Any help would be much appreciated. You would do better finding a MAC to go with the speed you want. Forcing Macs isn't really a good thing as your modem is assigned to slots and channels that are incorrect for the speed your trying to use.

By this you mean that there is a higher risk of getting caught?
I mean I removed the config file, but ticked the option to force network access. This seems to have boosted the speed to 9mb/s... strange? And the MAC im using is assigned to the config file: cmreg-ntlhm250-bas.cm (which is the 10mb MAC config) |

If you are using Haxorware go to config file in the left hand menu and enter cmreg-ntlhm250-rts22.cm and leave the tftp ip box blank. Then save and reboot and you should be running the forced config file.
TheCoder mentions wrong slots etc etc but the config file will still work and it isn't going to get you caught any more than what you are doing now, so if you want higher speed, go for it. |

Another problem when I force network access to the cmreg-ntlhm250-rts22.cm, then I get the ranging complete then IP complete... but thats it I dont get registration complete/ operational status.
It just reverts back to ranging status? Any ideas as to why or solution? Thanks |

Hmm are you ex-TW by any chance? Forcing has stopped working on TW as far as I know from my friends place in Croydon.
If that is the case then I am afraid that you will have to sniff for a 20 meg mac

Nope ex-CW in trentvale area
And I also have 20mb MAC's the rts22 ones, but when I apply them without forced config they don't even get past the ranging complete status... never had one on ip complete status. Sometimes it says status locked (even when I change PC mac all the time) Last edited by flipout; 31-05-09 at 08:13 PM. |

Hmm funny one that, they may have started making changes in your area.
have you enabled TFTP bypass at all? And are you using the correct stealth settings? Its all trial and error mate, just keep fiddling until you get a setup that works. Thats what I have had to do, it does take time, but when you hit gold, you will know it! |
