Smile Newbie questions

Hi Guys,
Am interested in buying one of these eurovox boxes, but I want to ask a few questions.

(1) I have been told I need to get a service from VM does this include broadband or is it just tv?

(2) Whats the cheapest service that VM can offer , that would enable this box to work?

(3) I get this box after buying one, what do i do next when i receive it?

Thank you for your time

Take Care

1. you need a live feed from virgin medai in your home. Get the smallest tv package and mayaswell get broadband too.

2. get the medium package, smallest broadband and you may need a phone line. Approx £20 a month

3. You plug the virgin media cable into the back of the box then just connect a scart socket from the box to your tv.

Now i am confused.

I was always under the impression that all that was needed was a live feed. The box does the rest, albeit with some slight alterations.

No payments to any cable company neccassary

you need an active feed so either a broadband or min tv package will work. You will have to pay the basic but you'll get all the channels.

AM confused lol, I think i have a cable coming into the house, but i dont think it is digital, does that matter,?

I have been told by my mate that if you get a box from virgin media and get it chipped that should work, but what my concern is does the eurobox give less chance of being caught than a VM box?

Take Care

I do have a live feed through borrowing someones box and testing it. Only terrestrial channels but its been acknowledged on these boards that it proves its live.

I will be buying a box for my son who is moving into his new home and he will not be joining up with any cable company. If that is the case i guess he will have to stick with his built in freeview for the time being.

Apologies for hijacking this thread but i feel that my questions might warrant answers you also require at some point Skull

If I was you, Id at least pay for broadband because when the TV channels go down, at least you have non stop broadband! and if you use BB regularly with VM, they wont suspect anything(as you'll have it on pretty much all the time you're connected to the net)

Any TV or broadband service. I would pay for the cheapest option

If its from me(Im not a trader, but have a couple of dboxes for sale) then you wont have to do anything(except sort your favourites)

If its from Lincsat or Zemme then you may need to scan and that would be it

If it looks something like this you should be fine-If you only have the telephone wire, then you cant have "free TV"

Relax. You cant get caught with these dodgy boxes(any brand-any way Id say get a Dbox over a EV)

I would say that the dbox is more future proof as it has an ability to card share(Please do not ask how to share on these forums as you may receive an infraction) and also there are much less dbox's selling as faulty compared to the Eurovoxes. I have a couple for sale pretty much £85 and £90 delivered(if you choose the £12.99 or £7 postage) It is for sale here Please read both pages
