I'm looking around me at the scene of devastation that used to be my back room, at the various consoles, memory cards, smart cards and PCB's, and wondering what other members here play with? Are you specialised in modifying consoles, or do you like to try your hand at anything?
I started modifying things when OnDigital started, and since then I've chipped Xboxes (and recently softmodded them), repaired RROD 360's, repaired and custom FW PSP's, modified cable boxes, got my sons DS running homebrew (I'm going to make it a VOIP when I get a minute)...Nothing interesting, and nearly all of it from blindly following tutorials, but I love it when I take something that works, do stuff to it that may lead to it not working, and then eventually make it do what I want (and usually not what the manufacturers want ). So do any other members get a giddy thrill when they manage to make electronics do what it wasn't designed to do, or are you just in it for the benefits? I'm really curious as to the motiviation of other members, and their modding CV's too* ![]() PC *By modding CV's I mean what have you modded in the past, not have you altered your 2 cylinder French car. |

Well in the summer, I will be looking to mod some consoles(I remember I gave my PS2 away to a cousin-I think I could get it back if I was to chip it for them)
At the moment just modified cable boxes-patchable receivers and linux ones(moscs is my next "objective") |

i came here this time last year. learnt a lot in 12 months.
the thing im most proud of is my soldering. i used to be hopeless at it but i've got it of to a tea now. its all about the right tools for the job. horses for courses. i started off modding a d2c wii. i bought a cyclowiz for it and then realised i'd need a d2c key. after frying my first drive chip i bought a new drive. this was a d2b with cut legs! i got the dremmel out and grinded the chip and successfully soldered kinar to the stumps. i was well buzzing when i'd done it. i started off with modems in the cable scene. when it was easy, lol. i did a few paces at first and now i like doing the v+ i lift tsops now so the 512 is no problem at all.

I've modded my wife. It has taken 12 years of marriage but now she is nothing like when I married her.
