Hi
I am having a problem with my eurovox ex500 aspect ratio. My tv is 16:9 and the aspect ratio is set to "original"..so when a 4:3 picture is being displayed it usually shows it in the correct ratio but with grey borders at the sides. But now I have to manually set the aspect ratio myself to suit the channel being displayed on the eurovox for some reason even when the tv is set to original. This just happened suddenly..I think it might have been when I did a channel update. I also tried reinstalling the darx 01/12/08 firmware but it made no difference. The tv settings on my eurovox are "pal", "cvbs", "full frame", "spdif n", "UHF mode: pal B/G", "UHF channel:40".If someone could help me out that would be appreciated. Thanks |

If you're connected via Scart then you should set your Eurovox to RGB for best picture quality.. After you flashed, did you inadvertently plug the scart lead into the Scart2 (VCR) socket on the Eurovox instead of Scart1 (TV) ? As I dont think the Aspect ratio signal is sent out via the VCR Scart2 output..

I wouldn't expect those 2 to make any difference (I was only stating how my system is set up)
I would try playing about with different settings check in your TV settings for aspect ratio (mine is set to auto) check eurovox TV mode (mine is set multi) eurovox aspect ratio (mine is set 16:9) and in reply to your last answer is the TV scart plugged into the AV1 socket of the TV |

when the both are set to 16:9 the tv stretches 4:3 channels on the eurovox to 16:9 which distorts the picture. My tv needs to be set to original to automatically adjust the AR..but it isn't working with my eurovox now.

You have them setup correctly.. Sounds like the Aspect switching signal isnt getting to your TV from the Eurovox.. The only things left to try are, Power Cycle the Eurovox (power off at the mains for more than 10 seconds).. If still the same, try a different Scart Lead.. If still the same, try the Eurovox on a different Telly, just to be sure its the Eurovox at fault and not your Telly Scart input..
