Default some questions about the Vantage hd 8000s

I am thinking of buying a vantage hd 8000s and would like to know if anyone has had any problems saving videos to an external drive and then copying from that to a computer to edit the files. Have people had problems saving recordings on to the internal or external hard drive in the first place? Do the drives simply work by attaching them via the USB port or is it more complicated than that? Has anyone who has used an internal hard drive discovered if it is easy to copy from the internal to an external hard drive? Finally, I understand the vantage has a 7 day + EPG for those channels that provide this so one can set a timer a week in advance.

Thanks a lot in advance for the information.

Hi,

I have an 8000 with an internal HDD. It attaches to the internal USB. I have not had any problems recording or downloading to PC. Can't comment on the EPG sorry.

Regards

Thanks for the information. Can one just copy files as if the Vantage internal drive were a normal external drive temporarily connected to the PC?

I was informed by the company I am thinking of buying the Vantage through that the return rate has been 50% so they don't recommend the box to anyone. Can anyone comment on that? Have people had a lot of problems with the Vantage?

Thanks in advance for your help

There was a problem with overheating but apart from that it's a great RX.

It depends how many boxes they sold to calculate their 50% return rate!!!
