tried the usual methods, .5, remove splitters and plenty of power scans, the signal in my new home was too high so i bought a signal dropper (variable attenuator) and dropped it to the 80-81 mark just as it was at my old house and still i get jumps, pixelation and the no signal message.
it will be fine for a few seconds the fcuk up then fine and so on, anything else i can do? would an equalizer do anything? our sub sammy works fine. TIA

Thats what i thought but i have tried it plugged directly into the main feed with and without an isolator, also tried 2 isolators.
Even replaced the male to male f-connector in the box outside that the engineer fitted with a spare i had, still no luck. Good job i still have my free sky from that code that surfaced in november ![]() Was that you who posted that? Cant remember now. And about an equalizer? The signal here seems to go up and down alot more round here.

Someone must have another solution to this problem.
Sorry for the bump, just missing my favourites setup.

Sorry for another post, think someone stole the edit button as i couldnt see it anywhere?
Anyway, could my problem have anything to do with unclean electricity? Or is it possible that living right next to a cop shop is interfering with the box (police radios causing interferance), dont want to give myself away but when i say right next to i mean RIGHT next to a cop shop. Also the engineer fitted a new 256 ambit and took our old 255 ambit away, could that be the problem?

in answer to a couple of your questions
the guy who gave the sky code was honcho who seems to have disappeared. you can only edit posts within the first 20 minutes or so of posting. you say you still have the problem connected directly to the feed so that should rule out your ambit. your signal could be still too strong, have you tried dropping it further. you havn't put on the 8% firmware by any chance. (you didn't say which model you had) have you tried an older firmware just to see if its a firmware issue. |

if you can i would change your cables position in the street cabinet/pit as a faulty port could also be the problem.

Yh so its deffo not the ambit. Yh, Honcho, I remember now ![]() Tried dropping the signal as low as the attenuator would allow (73-75%) and it gets worse so i stuck it back on 80-81%. The firmware is the same as ive always had on it and it was working fine at my old house so i know its not that. (normal f/w not 8% fix) And there is no chance i am going in the cabinet Gadget, i get caught for everything ha ha, well looks like i am out of luck .Thanks for your replys, look forward to some more solutions.

only other thing I can suggest (if you havn't already tried) is to try adjusting the frequency up or down a touch to see if it improves
