Question What Receiver to Buy??

Hello to you all

I need some advice please I have currently have:
FreeSat HD TV
Humax Freeview 9200 PVR twin tuner (replace with sat receiver)
60cm Dish
Currently have a Single LNB but need to get a New one.

I would like to receive non free to air channels and some euro channels to.

I have about £300 to spend on a Sat Receiver I have read loads of details on web sites and think I have got a bit confused with all the kit out there.

So I am looking for a twin tuner PVR HD Receiver kind of the same as my current Humax but in sat and has HDMI.

ANY ADVICE WILL BE MOST WELCOME!!
Thanks

£300 is on the low side! As this will buy a receiver like the Topfield 7710 with twin tuners, HD and 320GB HDD, but you will also need a motorised 80-100cm dish, to get the most out of the system, so you need to be budgeting around £450.

Regards

Thanks for that!!

What I would like to do is buy a futrue proof receiver now and slowly upgrade as I get the cash in.
As I already have a dish and HD TV all I need to a good reciever if I need to spend a bit more on a reciever then I am sure I can find it.

I have read that some recievers you can flash the firmware to fet a bit more use out of it if you know what I mean is it worth looking at this or not?

I work in IT so I know a bit about this.

No such thing as a future proof receiver. Maybe go for a Linux receiver such as the AzBox, CubeRevo or Dreambox, the first two can have HD and twin tuners and start from £339 for the AzBox Premium, £429 for the CubeRevo Twin excluding a HDD and £1000 for a Dreambox 8000!

A linux receiver will allow you to load different s/w, and do more than a off the shelf non open source linux receiver.

A 0.1db single like the icecrypt are okay, but we now have back in stock a short supply of Megasat 0.1db which are better.

The software on the cuberevo is more stable, and is more of a plug and play unit, the AzBox is excellent value for money and once all the bugs are ironed out, it will offer great features for the £.
