Default xbox 360 dvd drive problem

awrite guys i have a 360 and the dvd draw wont stay shut it keeps opening and closing its self ? its a hitachi drive

do i need a new 1 or is there any thing u guys know

Does it take two presses to eject it? It might have put itself in Mode B somehow or maybe the eject button is getting stuck?

hi there m8 is your 360 been flashed and no u dont have to get a new one
its the drive that needs to be fixed well the top of it what holds the disk down

mine did it for a while done my head in i took it to a 360 repair shop that i no and he fixed it for 15pound for me i watched him do it

i have put photo on aswell to show u why it does it look at the red ----->

he just put a little sticker thing on it

awrite guys no its not flashed and i asked my local comp shop and they said 90 quid because i need a new drive and it has to get flashed so the new 1 to work

Yeah he's right about the flashing because the key from your console has to be put in the drive to "marry" the drive to your console's motherboard. But a new drive is only about 35 quid :|.

Well you can sell your old one and just say it needs a new DVD drive. As long as the console functions, i'm sure somebody would pay a good price and get it fixed .
