New LiteOn Revision (83850c) Starting To Surface

The following information was found on xbox-scene:

"New LiteOn Revision - 83850c

There appears to possibly be a new firmware/hardware revision for the LiteOn drive that was originally posted on these German forums. It is being discussed on our forums
here

So far, it is just speculation at this point. It appears the user is claiming the key's are coming back all 00's. We are unsure if it is user error, or a new protection. Any users with this revision please email iriez at xbins dot org with any information. If it truely is new protection, we will need to get our hands on it! Donors will be taken care of!"



Apparently someone has found a way to read the key using alternative points on the PCB.

No they didnt why would the tx and rx change, that was early day bull**** mate........? Latest speculation is that its coated in epoxy but no one has said anything 100% and no decent pics

That's why I said APPARENTLY. I know it's just a rumour, it's probably going to be a few weeks (if not, months) before this revision is hacked as well. People are also saying that they might have to decap the chip again.

Cant see that..... No one with any know how has said anything about it yet really apart from oggy and that was only summary info
