I just saw this in the Cable Modem downloads, what is it for? My understanding is that it unlocks the dongles you get from phone providers (3, Vodafone etc) to allow free internet or uncap their speeds?

it unlocks the provider lock, so you can put another provider's sim in, if youre' in an area where, say, O2 has coverage and 3, who you got the dongle from doesn't.

it's a nice idea, but i cant seem to find anywhere to get the broadband sims unless i buy another dongle.

The 3G Sims are available on ebay varying from 99p to £10 depending on what you want. Make sure that you get the broadband enabled HSPDA ones though (The 02-Iphone ones (about £2.50 each) with a years free broadband usage work quite nicely

hi bin tryin to get my zte 3moden to work on a o2 sim for the last 2days .but no luck.. now i no why. aint all sims the same??

If it's unlocked properly, then it should work OK - Have you setup the connection details properly?

config filname: O2
dial no: *99#
username: payandgo
password: payandgo
APN: payandgo.o2.co.uk
pdp type: IP
auth mode: PAP

Most sims will work as long as they are gsm enabled, just some will allow faster data transfer than others.

A lot of the older 02/Orange sims (>2 years) are not gsm enabled. If you cant web browse or get email etc on your phone then you may have one of these older sims.

dont know why but i cant get globe program to find the 3 usb toggle.

ive checked in device manager to make sure it has its drivers installed and all is ok..does the com port setting have to be altered if so can some1 tell me what to please
