been trying 2 prog my funcard for sammy 21ooc read loads ov posts and tuts .ithink ive fond my prob . in engineers menu it says smartcard mute how can i fix this pleez

Hi

Erase your card a few times and write details to card and see if it works, if stil same then either your card f**ked so try another card if you have one or most likely thing is your card reader is f**ked.

yusuf did you manage to figure it out ,,cause someone else might be having that problem ,,if you have sorted it out ,,its good to share and tell how did you mend it ,

I always share m8 lol its just that I didnt have the problem, ggglwp did, dont know if he`s got it sorted though.

"Mute" error basically means that the box cannot hear any replies from the card. This can be caused by a number of reasons, most often -

1/ Card incorrectly inserted (upside down etc)
2/ Card incorrectly programmed
3/ Card dead (If you can program a Mosc card, it ain't dead)
4 Dirty contacts - card or reader.
5/ Card reader problem - most common is a bent or broken contact pin
6/ Box circuitry failure - usually card interface chip
