Default Pace 1000 gone blank? Stuck on 'C'??

My Pace 1000 has suddenly gone blank showing a letter that looks like a 'C', switching the power off, allows it to reboot and tune in like normal but then after watching for a bout minute it just goes blank but back in to tune mode as if the power was turned off again? Is it fried? Dont see how as I always turn the mains off every night as I do know these things generate a lot of heat!! HELP!

Hi Seamouse, can't take a pic at the mo but you may be right as on of the blank episodes the letter 'A' was displayed. Again had to turn the mains off and wait for all the reboot tuning etc. to get the picture back up. I thought it may have been the tuner on its way out, hence the blank screen etc? Lastly I did manage to open it to see if anything was out of place but it all appeared in order, even took out the sim that was firmly in place with the round plastic keeping it locked firm. However it did run okay thereafter, but as I had to go away I have not had a chance to see how long for??

Bloody Gremlins! There's an old pace 2000 box that was left behind in the place I am moving into. Thus I am thinking if its worth buying a cheapo unlooper and attempt to use that as the replacement for this? Trouble is I have never used an unlooper and dont know if the card is paired or unblocked?? Can an unlooper unlock any paired card for a box i.e even the newer V+ HD etc? Cheers

yes, but, if it has been in use and subscription cancelled or bill not paid, a deactivation hit will have sent a fake bk to the card

PM'd You your BK mate , It was a genuine BK ( not the dreaded 6d 56 ) , hopefully that was the card from that box . Fingers crossed .
