Hi folks, decided to try and flash my first box, cause its my mates and i've messed it up some what playing about with factory setting and what not, lost all channels and tried everything that folks have told me in other posts, so i've dowloaded the files from here ie firmware and loader, connected the box with my NEW null modem cable then connected it to the pc using the only connection i can see that the cable will fit, turned on the box then the pc but i cant find the box anywhere, how would i know if the pc recognises the box, i tried going into device manager and looked in com ports but its not there, dont know where else to look, so im taking it i dont have a pc connection for the null modem cable and will have to buy a usb connection, sorry for the novel, but i need help

Digivox? Don't use null modem. It's a straight through rs232 you need.

You could buy the cable for the price it would cost you for a USB to RS232 adapter so you may as well get the proper cable (unless your PC/Laptop doesn't have a serial port).

could someone give me a link to the cable i need dont want to get the wrong 1 again, getting a little confused by it all, checked the back of the digivox and there is a nine pin connection, but when i googled the straight through rs232 it came up with 25pin connections, the null modem cable i got fits perfectly into it but according to fj1200 its the straight through 1 i need,
no need folks, found the nine pin rs232 cables a few pages further on, cheers Last edited by tommy2426; 14-06-09 at 01:09 AM. Reason: add info |
