As anyone yet been able to record from this machine,I hear conflicting
reports. it seems a dam good machine, but is it just a reciever for HD
and not to be confused as an easy way to record.

Any comments please

Are you are talking about the TM6900 combo HD. I have one and I like it.
It is easy to use (maybe I'm just smarter than your average bear

)
I think Picture quality is good, easy to record and playback.
It has Mpeg 4 tuner for terrestrial channels which is in operation in Ireland from some transmitters. Mpeg trials are ongoing in the UK at the moment.
You can time shift but I have not used this feature yet so don't knoe how well it works.

Minus points I have experienced.
You can only make one recording at a time, be it satellite or terrestrial.
Erasing recordings is a little convoluted but you get used to it.
