Default Tntsat

I have a french tntsat system which I use regularly to watch french tv. However the box is pretty crap, it forever resets itself and loses the favourites I have stored and it is just generally annoying.

I am looking to buy a motorised system to try and pick up some more foreign channels. Am I correct in thinking that the TNTSAT card only works in their dedicated boxes or could I buy something like a Technomate and use the TNT card? If so what would I need to make sure I had, the card is Viaccess so I am assuming I would need a viaccess cam (is that correct).

I would be most grateful of any advice.

Apparently the TNT sat card will work in a Diablo CAM with the appropriate Underworld files. So if you went for a TM make sure you got one with a CAM slot.

Am I right in thinking that the Technomate TM-5400CI+ Super has a cam slot and is compatible with a motorised system?

Yep and Yep. Pretty easy to setup up with a motor using USALS and a Diseqc motor. For 36V you need a V-box

I have recently recieved a quote for a motorised dish instalation, which is dish, box and instalation for £450 from satellitetveurope.co.uk, does this sound like a reasonable price? The dish is 80cm and the box is a Manhatten XTcM.

Also will the Manhatten let me use my TNT card with a Diablo Cam?

I would really be appreciative of any advice.

Seems a bit pricey to me mate. £350 would be more like it I think. Where are you? as that may affect price.

Yes, the Diablo should work in it, it has a Cam slot.

Thanks for the reply.

I did think that! I am in Telford in Shropshire. I have done a bit of scouting about on the internet, and there seems to be plenty of places in the south east that will do it cheaper, but Shropshire seems to be a bit to out in the sticks. I have emailed a few local companies that do satellite instalations but they either havent replied or dont do motorised systems.

I also emailed a couple of the big sort of comanies with glossy websites and nationwide coverage but they havent replied either!
