Cool Re: have i nearly flashed my ambit 250 modem

hi guys, ive been messing around with both modems my sub and my flashed one, when i connect my subbed modem the receiving led light flashes alot along with the sync light then ready light flashes on and off and then after 5 seconds stays on a solid green light, now with my flashed one the lights seem to be alot slower the only lights i seem to get are power and enet, also the usb light flashes but not sure why as there is no usb connected.

my ambit 250 has haxorware flashed and this is what i do to try and get online, sniff for macs using dhcp sniffer [not sure about the bruteforce thing as people say use it and others say dont] as its ment to sniff macs outside my ubr to work on my modem, once i have a few macs i disconnect my subbed modem and connect all cable to my flashed modem, i log into the haxo homepage and go to addresses under configuration settings, i copy and paste macs in hfc mac and usb mac[ i edit last digit in usb mac 1 letter or number higher] after i save and reboot i still cant get online after trying about 20 times, please help as this is doin my head in, i have give every detail of what i am doing to get online so others find it easier to help me out, thanks for all your help so far people .

I hope you're changing you're NIC MAC address when you swap between your subbed and flashed modems.

No probs. Let me know how you get on cos i'm struggling myself.

I'm getting blank gateways and configs when I run sniffer with my flashed modem too although it's fine with my subbed modem.

Really need to find out if my modem is knackered or if it's because i'm using a bad MAC. Tearing my hair out and I don't see any literature telling you what you should expect if you are using a bad mac i.e should you still pick up an external IP address but not be able to get online etc, I still get internal addresses in sniffer and when i configure the modem with a mac. Done everything i've read but still no luck.

ello m8, if you cant connect at all or you are getting online for about 10 mins then cut off it sounds like a bad mac. sniff out macs from your subbed modem with dhcp sniffer with brute force ticked and try a few macs from there, i forgot about changing the nic mac address as i was following poker players hacking guide which didn't mention changing the nic mac but just remembered the Hayes cable modem hacking guide which includes the nic mac.
