Default Missing channels?

over the last couple of weeks a few channels have vanished leaving just a blank screen with 'scrambled or no signal' message. And when I view the channel guide it says PROGRAM instead of the name of the missing channel. Tried a scan to get them back but not sure if I did it correctly. Do I need to factory reset then scan?

Has anybody else lost channels over the last few weeks?

If the channels have moved to a new transponder then you'll have to do a fresh scan to pick these up.
I always do a factory reset when doin a fresh scan, but its not essential.By not doing a factory reset you'll probably notice that your net id dosnt appear!

Factory reset
1.Menu-Iistallation-Automatic search

2.Select your ex provider ex CW,NTL,TW ect.A list of network id's will appear so select the one that applies to you,if your net id isnt there press the RED button to scan entire network.

3.Once the scan is complete and you have exited the menu put the box in standby (power search mode) for 5-10 mins so it arranges the channels.

Ronster i thought the kryptview scans when the box is powered off..

(Automatic powercan in standby mode - so no need to scan for channels ever again)..

As im thinking about getting one of these now myself,as im sick of re-scanning my eurovox max v EVERY day for the last 3 days!!..

Cheers..

yes it does scan in standby mate but only scans the transponders that are already stored on the box,its the equivalent to the eurovoxes autoscan/channel update.
Usually a channel is moved to an already existing transponder so these are replaced in your channel listing when you put the box in standby.Occasionally the channels are moved to a new transponder and this is when you need to do a fresh scan,it only takes 5 mins to scan (scans are rapid on KVs)and all your channels are back arranged in their normal order.
You wont be dissapointed with them mate, scannings a 5 minute job and theres no arranging channels needed after
They also have the added bonus of a far superior picture quality to any other box! oh and best support.

well, after following your advice I have got the channels back that vanished but I still had to arrange them into my favourites.

but when i view the EPG, majority of the channel names down the left hand side are faint while the odd one is bold and theres hardly any program information anymore what have I done wrong ha

Forgot about the favourites mate as its something ive never bothered with,i just use the auto sorted categorys.
Not sure what you mean with the EPG mate, freeview channels will be in bold and premium will be a lighter blue.
Have you put the box in standby for 5-10 mins since you scanned?

I've lost BBC1 & 2 today, which I assume is down to the digital re-tune?
So on my DW800 should I follow this advice ie Menu/installation/service search/automatic?
Also, I know Im ex-tw, but how do I find my net id (took a guess last time & it seemed to work ok)

Cheers
