error on box

hi just had a xbox360 flashed by someone got it back from him but i think he has ****ed it up when i turn it on it says update failed so i gave it back to him and he said hes got to dload 12 updates to get the box back to how it was is this true?or not?also it wont play originals

That's just updates for certain games, make sure you have a memory unit or hard drive inserted and it will do it automatically. It has nothing to do with the flash, if he f****d the drive, you would have error like E65 on screen.
