I basically have seen an item on eBay(1m motorised dish) that measures 110cmx110cmx60cm when it is packaged up. It weighs something like 12kg and it is pick up only or arrange a courier
and automatically those sizes get pallet sizes as they are aboce, so I would be paying £100 for delivery!-Im sure you can get delivery for £20 It is a satellite receiver and Im sure the traders can get postage for £20 otherwise they would be out of business by now At first, I thought of the PO and parcel force, however they say that the girth must not exceed 3m I had no idea what a girth was so I googled (see answer 4)and it seems that the girth of the item is way over 3m |

They mean the volumetric weight of the package.
EG: you have a box 60x50x30cm (L,W,H), that weights 8kg, you will not be charged for the actual weight, but the size of the box. (or which ever is greater) to work out the volumetric weight = 60(??) x 50(??) x 30(??) / 6000 = 15kg. EDIT: 110cm x 110cm x 60cm = 121 kg you would be paying for!!

So this "weighs" 121kg!? Also I found payperparcel who will send it for £40-Now that Ive read your post, Im not too sure what to set the weight as. What I am really wanting is something like £20 as that is what the traders are charging

If you remind me next week(Monday), I can have a look at some couriers/pallet services for you, see if I can find a better price for you. What you have to remember is, 110cm x 110cm x 60cm is the size of a Pallet, not a parcel.

Always put the actual physical weight, as they will most probs will want both weights & dimensions.

I am going to contact Boxby in the morning and see what they say about postage and post an ad on shiply.com. Worst comes to worst, I suppose £40 by payperparcel.com is better than £100! Last edited by waqasahmed; 20-06-09 at 01:30 AM. |
