Exclamation VOA Persian 3.1E

VOA Persian (USA)

Eutelsat W2M

11472V
27500 2/3

FTA programming transmitting in Persian for the Iranian market. Started here due to intense jamming being carried out by Iranian authorities which has been disrupting the Hotbird transmission

VOA(Voice of America)Persian, hasn't been affected on Hotbird.
The two transponders that are "allegedly" being jammed by Iran,on Hotbird are 11117V(BBC Persian) and 11470V.(Kanal e Jadid)
I say allegedly,as its the BBC who have made the accusation, and the BBC,have issues with the Iranian authorities, seeing as BBC Persian is "banned",in Iran.
Interestingly, when BBC Persian is not broadcasting(only audio from BBC Radio Persian),the transponder is fine.
Outside of the BBC,it hasn't been confirmed by any other source or even by the satellite operator, that the source of jamming is eminating from Iran,I don't think?
VOA Persian on Hotbird is on 12225V,and BBC Radio Persian has been broadcasting on Hotbird without any problems.
The launching of VOA Persian on 3.1E,is more likely to be a case of "Getting the party started ",know what I mean Gov

Don't know if the jamming is all the time, but checking last night, both VOA and BBC Persian were working fine on Hotbird.

There are not many if any inference reports from inside the UK, I've not read of anything, read some in Germany and Poland though.

Anyone actually witness the inference on here?

I definately noticed the interference on 11117V and 11470V,for at least a couple of days, where the signal quality was constantly fluctuating,as I usually watch VOA Persian and Channel 6 on most days.
I assumed it was related to the earlier technical problem which had occurred on 11470V.
VOA Persian on 11566H,has been broadcasting on usual, without any problems.

Hi
FYI,right now most of the jamming is done locally, which differs from area to area and city to city.
It is said that such microwave jamming is rather hazardous to health in long term.
