Technomate Patching Questions

Technomate Patching Questions
Q) What is a patch?
A) A patch is a piece of software (written by Darkman) which opens/unlocks a few public hacked packages/channels using keys.

Q) How do I open these hacked channels?
A) You will need the latest patch. CLICK HERE to go to the technomate software forum and select the appropriate patch for the box you have.

Q) How do I transfer the patch to the box.
A) You will need to loader. Extract and open the file. On software, select the correct patch and then connect your pc up to your satellite box using a null cable. Auto-connect your box so you know which com port its using then press connect. It will say something like version 1.6 detected and just press start. It will now begin to upload your patch.

Q) What do I do after ive installed the patch?
A) You will need to restart your box and tune into your chosen channel. It may take a while to open at first.

Q) How long does a patch last? Will it need updating every month? Every week?
A) Patches are always released but you only need to update yours if a new channel/package becomes available or something happens to the encryption on a certain channel and needs updating.

Q) So I don’t need to enter anything else afterwards?
A) Yes. If a package/channel changes the encryption to another hacked encryption then you will need to either update the keys or your patch.

You will also need to update the keys if you wish to view multivision as they change keys daily at the moment.
You can also update keys by uploading the softcam file to your technomate using the loader.

Q) What channels can I get with a patched box?
A) Well this changes all the time. At the time of writing this the main packages that you can get are tps, digital+, tv cabo and some other smaller packages such as mediapark. Although, channels come and go. If you would like to know what channels that have English programming are currently open, look below.

Q) Why can’t I open X or Y channel using this patch?
A) You can only open a few public hacked channels using a patch. A lot of channels are not hacked so you will need to buy a subscription from a dealer to view it.

A package could also be hacked (ie Premiere) but it’s a commercial hack so you will need to buy a specialist card to open it. More information on all of this can be seen below.

If the channel is normally available to but not for you then check you have the latest patch/keys and that the channel is currently open. Restart your box and see if that helps.

Try deleting the channels and re-scan them again.

If that doesn’t help you may need to ask for further help on the forum.

Cards/Cams/Encryptions

Cards/Cams/Encryptions

Q) What is a Conditional Access Module (CAM)?
A) A conditional access module (or cam) contains the technology needed to unlock encrypted subscription TV channels using a card. A Cam may be built into a receiver or a separate unit. CAMs are available for most encryption apart from the Videoguard (NDS) system used by sky.

Q) What is a Magic CAM?
A) Magic CAMs, Joker CAMS and Global CAMs contain the software for several types of encryption for use with viewing cards containing keys to disparate packages.

Q) What is a common Interface?
A) Receivers with a common interface can accept external CAM units of any kind, giving the users a broad flexibility.

Q) What is Nagravision, Seca, conax, viaccess, videoguard etc?
A) These are different types of encryptions. All can be discussed here apart from the Videoguard encryption or else anything related to sky.

Q) I heard viaccess has hacked, why isnt art available then?
A) There are different versions of the same encryption. So there’s viaccess 2.4 (which is hacked) but art uses viacceaa 2.5 (which is not).

Q) Opos, titanium, penta, knot – what is the point of all thse cards?
A) Each card will open a certain package. See each sub-forum for more info on what you can get on each card.

Q) Is it possible for me to subscribe to X or Y package?
A) Most packages require you to live in the country of where it is sold. You could get a second hand subscription from a dealer but this would cost a lot of money and can be quite difficult to get.
Adult subscriptions are easily available from dealers quite cheaply. Two other popular packages are digitalb and art. These are sold by most dealers and are very inexpensive.
Art show most English premiership games (even the 3pm games) with English commentary. Digitalb also show premiership but nowhere near as much as art and also show films (in English) and porn.

General Satellite Questions

General Satellite Questions

Q) How can I get more than 1 satellite?
A) You can have more than one dish, or have up to four “offset feed” LNBs on the same dish but at most these can only be for satellites within 10-15° of each other.

A motorised dish will provide a greater selection of satellites from across the whole sky. Users of small dishes up to 90cm can use simple DiSEqC 1.2 motorised mounts. Dishes of 1m and above will need a more powerful and complex 36v motor drive.

Q) What are DiSEqC and USALS?
A) Digital satellite equipment control is a standard created by Eutelsat for receivers to select between LNBs and control motorised dishes. A DiSEqC-Compatible receiver sends pulses at 22kHz, along the LNB cable to control a DiSEqC switch or motor.

Mini-DiSEqC switches can select between two LNBs, DiSEqC 1.0 is used for upto 4 LNBs, DiSEqC 1.1 for up to 16 LNBs, using two sets of pulses.
DiSEqC 1.2 uses the pulses to instruct a “smart” motor to move east or west, or go to a present position. USALS (also known incorrectly as DiSEqC 1.3 or gotoX) uses an even smarter mount which can find any position in the sky based on a single reference bearing and the users longitude and latitude.

Q) What are ‘Feeds’?
A) Broadcasters often use satellite links – feeds – to transfer programming to remote locations before broadcast. Feeds may be unedited, containing bloopers and footage unsuitable for broadcast. Many are unencrypted, although sport feeds are becoming rare and broadcasters are moving to the technically superior MPEG4:2:2 format.
