Yup, I chucked at that one too. All in all, a fantastic guide. Hey he showed us every thing wrong with the clones. Deserves some kind of applause

Just to add to the mix, the connector headers used on the clones (e.g. the RS232 header) are based on the early batch of genuine Starview 4s, albeit using white headers on the clone instead of black.

Later Starview 4 boxes had their headers changed to the open style with a single tab to the rear, rather than the polarised box style you can see in the clone pictures.

This can confuse some people when they try to re-flash their box following the 8882 error, as their RS232 connector may not fit correctly & they then assume they have a clone.

Where did you buy yours from? If you bought from someone that we commonly know here to sell genuine receivers, then theres no need for panic. If you bought from a cloner eg:some people on eBay, then dont flash the receiver, but instead demand a refund as you were given a fake and you havent flashed it, so your warranty isnt void.

Of course, youll also have much less problems if you bought from a reputable seller

I have compiled these photos and turned them into a PDF.I dont take any credit as this was all Zemmes work and all I did was turn it into a PDF. I turned it into a PDF for people to have it on their PC's when the tinternet is down and you urgently need to know if firmware will brick your receiver and for those who dont like having to find a guide whenever they get a receiver that needs updating. Remember I take zero credit for this work. I compiled it only to help people here and this was not my work at all.

If Zemme doesnt like me uploading this guide, then I kindly ask the mods to remove my upload
