Default Kryptivew

Had my kryptivew for 2 days, just tried for hours to get it working and no good. put the software etc on it but no idea how to connect it to the tv to get a signal, tried everything, i can get it on but clearly i am meant to put another wire into the back or something because it doesnt find any channels and just says tp 1-7, 56 signal.
just got up, tried for another 2 hours swapping cables round last night and still cant do it. already connected to my tv is a freeview box, vcr, dvd player and old cable anaolgue box (which is still working up until 1st july), connected to this cable box are 2 wires (brown one from outside is connected but goes into a little black cablemedia box on the way in, then just a random cable called coaxial going into it as well from the white box on the wall. really wish i could set my kryptview up, managed to get onto the installation screen on the tv but no chance in finding any channels, just dont know how to connect it all to get a signal

LU123, connecting the box to the TV is very straight forward. Assuming you have an live incoming signal from your service provider.
1. Connect the output from the white box on the wall to the top aerial connector at the back of the KV box using a screw-in F type connector, the push in type does not work.
2. Connect the TV scart from the back of the box to the TV.
3. Switch on the TV and the KV box, you should see the box, if not flick through your AV channels.
4. Then follow Ronsters set up guide:

Delete all channel data and do a factory reset

Fresh Scan

1.Menu-Iistallation-Automatic search

2.Select your ex provider ex CW,NTL,TW etc. A list of network id's will appear so select the one that applies to you; if your net id isn't there press the RED button to scan entire network.

3.Once the scan is complete and you have exited the menu put the box in standby (power search mode) for 5-10 mins so it arranges the channels.

I have tried for about 3 hours now, numerous people tried to help me and still cannot do so. I have uploaded all the software onto the kryptivew usoing my laptop, that is all done fine. I have virgin media broadband, so presumably i have a live feed? there is a white box on my wall, 2 spaces for wires (1 says tv and one says fm), what do i do? dont understand. tried every possible connection. the push in type? what is that! tv scart is in fine. just that live feed cable is preventing me from getting any signal although i can still see the kryptivew setup screen. no idea what to do. would do anything to get this working

I'm not familiar with the VM set up but typically a Braodband connection alone will not give you TV, you have to purchase a Boadband+TV bundle.

You seem to have narrowed it down to the live feed from VM. When you connect this to your Analogue box directly (no splits or loops through dvd or vcr) do you pick up live channels. If you do then there is nothing wrong with incoming signal and the problem is your KV box set up.

The KV box uses an F type screw in coax cable connector instead of the standard push in coax connector. You need one of these F Plug to Coax Plug 2m > Maplin

old cable anaolgue box
What cc box do you have?
If its the old anaolgue boxes and your only on an anaolgue feed then the Kryptview wont work
Can you try another cc box like a pace, sammy to see if the feeds live....Digital

Your VM subscription needs to be a Broadband + TV bundle. You can try another box but it looks like because you do not have a TV subscription in your package the TV output from the white box on the wall is not live.

If you have got coaxial broadband with VM, you will receive the TV channels too, this is because they are always 'sent down the wire' regardless of whether there is a cable box to decode it or not.

Since TV and broadband share exactly the same coaxial connection that enters your house from the VM network under your street, how can you state that you wouldn't receive TV?

You are further stating an incorrect peice of information. The Cable modems and TV Set-Top Boxes use the same bloody feed from the white box on the wall.

There are two feeds from it, TV/Data and FM, please stop stating things that are completely incorrect as though they are facts.
