I use notepad to modify a PHP program. Though I'm not an expert but I've learnt a little by asking from friends and reading tutorials at different tutorial websites.

I agree that notepad gives you better flexibility. I am not an expert at either, but I feel dreamweaver is too cumbersome for minor edits.

I use crimson editor. I have used it for like a year, when I finally decided today to go see if there were any upgrades. Seems like it was last updated in 2004. It is, however, still a great program and meets my editing needs very well.
I am not in favor of using dreamweaver, it is too klunky for me, and takes too long to get done what I need done. |

I am a total beginner--have been a beginner for many years now--so any WYSIWYG will do for me. Sometimes I venture and try Notepad but it takes me a lot of time to do things.
Crimson Editor... Another new program to my ears. I've tried CoffeeCup Editor before for a while. |

I use notepad. But I do hear dreamweaver is the way to go. I just dont want to go that way if I need to do simple modifications to a script or site. I only see dreamweaver for extensive work.

I used to strictly use notepad, but then I learned how to use dreamweaver. It sure makes things easier. And like someone else said, it comes in handy with I forget stuff. Hehe.
