Exclamation Complete newbe at this

i am looking at getting dish and decoder but not having any luck in finding websites for help. i am looking to look for free to air programes from diffrent contries as well so any help would be very helpfull

Hi Bowldy,
welcome to the forum.
It would help if you posted your general location, e.g. North East England.
I would suggest that first you look at where you would need to site a motorized dish, so that you can receive as many satellites as possible.
First check where you would need to install the dish, in order to get a range of between 45E and 45W of south.
To determine this locate due South, an easy way of doing this is by spotting a Sky dish, if you live in the UK, these point at 28.2 degrees East of South, so by moving 28.2 degrees West you get roughly where South is.
If you stand behind the dish this means moving to the right 28.2 degrees.
Have a read through the satellite forums, and especially the Sticky threads, those at the top of each section, these should answer a lot of questions.

Well i live in the swansea area and just lookin for a basic package that will let me search for channels and be able to use cards.

There are quite a few cheap, and easy to use, satellite receivers, check the various vantage and Technomate models, but you still need to work out where you would have to site your dish, and what you require.
Have a read through the various stcky threads, the threads at the top of each page, in the various satellite forums.
